You know, I had something different planned for this week’s painting. However, I got some unexpected news last week and I decided to change things a bit. Ever since I started this project it’s been interesting to see how the verses I paint become closer to me and I spend the week pondering, meditating, and learning more about them. It’s been such a humbling experience to go through this learning process… God’s Word is truly living and active, as Paul says in Hebrews 4.
So this week I choose to rest on these words, remembering that no matter the circumstances we can get into, my hope can and should remain in the Lord. Oh, and if you are wondering what kind of news I’ve got, it’s just that at some point this year I’ll have to go through extensive surgery with a long recovery ahead. My strength is in the Lord though and it is well with my soul. Have a wonderful week!
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
