Art & Scripture painting #21: Ecclesiastes 3:11

Art & Scripture

24 May

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11

Flowers are an ephemeral burst of life, colour and beauty. I love painting them, somehow it’s my vain effort to capture their delicate majesty for a little longer. Weeks ago, when I had planned to publish this painting along with this verse during my surgery recovery I had no idea that I was going to lose a dear friend to a long battle against cancer. She shaped my Christian life in ways that she probably never knew. For me, she’s gone too soon. For God, who has a time for everything, she was made beautiful in her time and fulfilled her purpose here gracefully and faithfully. Her legacy remains and I will always remember her as one of the most beautiful and exuberant flowers I’ve ever seen.

P.S.: Thank you for your prayers and messages of support! I’ve been recovering well and I can’t wait to get painting again. Have a wonderful week.

God sure provided us with a beautiful earth and all that is in it. His ways are higher than our ways but we still believe.
Such a Beautiful lasting legacy for you to remember your friend. She will be the most beautiful and exuberant flower that you have ever seen! Lasting forever in your heart.
My thoughts and prayers to you at this time. God bless you as you recover. ❤️ Janice
