Art & Scripture Painting #42 - Psalm 130:5

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
Psalm 130:5

Did you know that birds sit on electrical wires to rest and get themselves warm? Birds can even sleep on power lines thanks to the powerful locking action of their flexor tendons. Resting in high places also helps to protect the birds from predators while they are vulnerable.

If you've ever been on a season of waiting you know that your mind can't be idle. Something will take place of your thoughts while you wait - anxiety, fear, doubt. That's why David put his hope in God's word while he waited. As the birds grip their feet firmly while resting and waiting in heights, and even sleep in there, safe and warm, may we be assured that we can rest in God's word and his promises while we wait, because he's faithful and never changes.

Have a wonderful week!
