Art & Scripture Painting #43 - James 3:17-18

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
James 3:17-18
I'll be completely honest with you. As I am typing this blog post, I can hear my two oldest daughters arguing and bickering upstairs. Now, when that happens it's usually for the most absurd and unreasonable reasons, although it feels very legitimate to them. My initial thought was that amidst all this it wouldn't make any sense to be talking about peace at all. But then I am gently reminded that this is exactly why we should be talking about peace and wisdom from above.
I don't have much to write this week, except that those words are stuck to me. God's definition of wisdom is so different from the word's mainstream view (and amen to that!). This is what I'm seeking for my life: peace, gentleness, mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. I want to be a peacemaker and sow the fruit of righteousness as I walk with the Lord.

Have a great week!
