Art & Scripture, painting #10: 2 Samuel 22:29

I like how David names his struggles in this verse as “my darkness”. We all have our personal battles – challenges and troubles that seem so entangled that it’s hard to see clearly to find a way out. David had his fair share of tribulations and yet he puts it plain and simple: light and darkness are incompatible. With the Lord as our light, no matter what kind of personal darkness we might be going through, when the light of God shines on it, everything becomes bright as day.

I’m not sure what kind of darkness you may be dealing with but it’s my prayer that you may find comfort in this promise today.

Have a wonderful week!

You, Lord, are my lamp;
the Lord turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29
